Lima Station on Milan metro line M1

Lima is a station on metro line M1 between Loreto and Porta Venezia. It is located at Piazza Lima, which is the crossing of Corso Buenos Aires, Via Vitruvio, and Via Plinio. Other streets and places near Lima Metro Station include Via Giovanni Battista Morgagni, Piazza Francesco Bacone, Via Alessandro Tadino, and Via Benedetto Marcello. The tram stop at Piazza Lima is named Vitruvio Lima.

Lima Station is located at the edge of a very popular hotel district with dozens of hotels in nearby streets – but almost exlusively the streets west of Corso Buenos Aires; there are very few hotels on the eastern side. Corso Buenos Aires represents an approximate border of the hotel district. Many hotels are situated directly on Via Vitruvio, the other main street with trams.

The other end of Via Vitruvio, 3 tram stops and 6-8 minutes walk from Piazza Lima, is Piazza Duca d’Aosta, the large piazza in front of Milano Centrale Train Station. The Central Station is the unofficial centre of the hotel district. All streets running in various directions from Piazza Duca d’Aosta have at least several hotels – mostly 3 star or 4 star hotels. Among the streets with highest concentration of hotels between Centrale and Lima (besides Via Vitruvio) are Via Napo Torriani, Via Roberto Lepetit, and Viale Andrea Doria (the latter runs from Piazza Aosta to Caiazzo Metro Station, which is about 8 minutes walk from Lima to the north).
