Milano Porta Venezia Station

Porta Venezia is an important metro and train station in Milano (metro line M1 and several S-train lines). The station, as well as the whole district, are named after a city gate (Porta Venezia means Venice Gate in Italian). In fact, the metro and train stations at Porta Venezia are about 200 metres from one another. The metro station is at the north-eastern corner of Indro Montanelli Garden (the junction of Bastioni di Porta Venezia, Corso Venezia, Viale Luigi Majno, and Corso Buenos Aires), while the train station is one block to the north at the crossing of Corso Buenos Aires and Viale Regina Giovanna.

Most hotels are located in the streets to the west (towards Repubblica), north (towards Milano Centrale), or north-east (on and around Corso Buenos Aires, towards Lima Station). There are much fewer hotels to the east and south-east of Porta Venezia Station; and in the south-west, the nearest hotels are on the other end of the large park.
