Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) in Milan
Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco in Italian) is a large citadel at Piazza Castello in the north-western part of Milan inner city. It is located between Parco Sempione (a large park) and Largo Cairoli (square). There is a half-circle street running around Sforza Castle one block from Piazza Castello, named Foro Buonaparte.
While Sforza Castle used to be the seat of Dukes of Milan in the past, in these days it is mainly a tourist attraction and houses several galleries, museums and art collections – the best known museum is Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco with works by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci.
