Piazza Duca d’Aosta in Milan
Piazza Duca d’Aosta is the large square in front of Milan Central Train Station and Pirelli Skyscraper. Several big streets meet at Piazza Duca d’Aosta: Via Vittor Pisani (towards Repubblica, Duomo, and the historical centre of Milan), Via Vitruvio (towards Lima Metro Station), Via Giovanni Battista Pirelli (towards Gioia), and Via Luigi Galvani. On both sides of the Central Train Station building, which dominates Piazza Aosta, there are two smaller squares: Piazza 4 Novembre and Piazza Luigi di Savoia, which serves as the terminal for airport shuttle buses to Malpensa and Bergamo airports (buses to Linate Airport depart from San Babila Metro Station). The metro station at Piazza Duca d’Aosta is named Centrale FS.
Hotels close to Piazza Duca d’Aosta
The surroundings of Piazza Duca d’Aosta are among the most popular hotel locations in Milan – especially the streets to the south. Via Napo Torriani, which is a quieter street running from Piazza Duca d’Aosta between Via Vittor Pisani and Via Vitruvio, is full of hotels. Many hotels are situated also in Via Roberto Lepetit, which connects Napo Torriani with Piazza Luigi di Savoia.
Several hotels are also located very close to Piazza Duca d’Aosta in Via Giovanni Battista Pirelli (behind the Pirelli Tower). Most hotels in these areas are 3 star or 4 star hotels, but you will find also a few budget hotels and hostels.
Other popular hotel areas in Milano city centre
You can also find many hotels in the historical centre of Milan, which is 3-4 metro stops from Piazza Duca d’Aosta (but perfectly possible to walk). Popular hotel locations in the historical centre are the streets around La Scala Theatre and Milano Cathedral (at Piazza del Duomo) – there are several luxury hotels in or near Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (the famous shopping arcade between Duomo and La Scala).
